Jenny's Amsden House Restaurant

Jenny's Amsden House Restaurant is located on East Main Street in Bellevue, Ohio. Someone recommended Jenny's to us a few weeks ago so we decided to check it out. Every time we decide on a place to dine for our Sunday breakfast, we look at the reviews of others to get an idea of what to expect. Reading the reviews are sometimes misleading, but that is a chance you take when trying something new. So...here we go. I am not in the habit of making a bad blog about some place we have been, but this restaurant bares a review. If you look at the reviews it is pretty much 98% all good. Not in our opinion. We walked in the door and found a nice booth mid way through the diner as not to get the cold from the front door opening. We were greeted with a grunt as to what we would like to drink. There were only two other people in the diner when we got there. Bare this in mind as you continue to read. The waitress brought over our drinks and was asked what we would like to eat. WITHOUT a smile or personality she took our order and huffed off. Within a few minutes a few more people came in and sat down about 15 feet from us at a table. The waitress apparently knew everyone but us and continued to talk to them. No biggie, right? WRONG! The waitress brought us our food, which looked like a toddler threw it on a plate after playing with it, and in a tone only a mother knows (come on, you know that, I'm annoyed with you, attitude) and asked us if we needed anything else. We said no, looked at each other and began to decipher what we thought was some kind of science experiment in front of us. We sat in silence as we tried to eat. (Mind you...the food was edible. It just looked bad) The waitress NEVER once came back to ask us how everything was. She ignored us and continued her conversation with the couple 15 feet way from us. They were talking about an apparent suicide attempt in town with one of the locals. That's when it hit us both square in the face.......We are not locals so therefore you get treated as an outsider. Ok...makes sense, right? Wrong! Listen people, I am known for public relations and being about making others feel at home and welcome. If you treat me well I will TIP very well. If you treat me like a pile of horse manure, well, you will get the same from me....HORSE SHIT! I am not telling you to ignore this diner. I am telling you to form your own opinion as we do about every place we eat. I have never been treated to poorly in my life. Sorry folks.
