Cosmos Restaurant

Aaahhh...Sunday morning! A time to relax and slow down. A time to enjoy the silence and revel in God's light! A time to eat, because we're hungry. And what better day to travel than on Sunday morning. When we choose a place to dine, we like to take in the scenery as well. And today is no different. The sun is shining, the deer romping in the fields...this is our best life. And what better way to spend it...with the hubby!

Today we ventured to Defiance, Ohio to the Cosmo Restaurant. This quiet family restaurant was cozy with only three couples enjoying the quiet morning over their coffee and breakfast. We chose to sit in a booth and take in a little more sunshine. The booths were very

comfy and well cared for I might add. Now the wait staff on the other hand, well they could use a little training in customer service. Our waitress was quite slow out of the gate. Our meals were almost gone before she came back to ask us if we needed anything. Plus...my hubby's coffee cup was empty for quite some time before she came back. Not good!! But how was the food, you ask? Let me tell you...

The hubby got the Hungry Man skillet. This monster was

overflowing with hash browns, ham, bacon, sausage, onions, green peppers, cheese and topped with three over medium eggs. Everything was meshed perfectly with the exception of the hash browns. They were mushy and had no flavor whatsoever. Almost as if they were kept in the fridge a little too long. Along side of the Skillet was an order of perfectly toasted wheat toast.

For me it was a toss up but I had to have the Eggs Benedict. Let's just say it was a home run! Perfectly toasted English muffin, thick sliced ham that melted in my mouth, four...yes four poached eggs smothered in a very creamy and decident hollandaise sauce! It was served with hash browns and yet again they were not up to par. However, the raisin toast was the perfect compliment to this meal.

As many of our readers know, we travel all over Ohio to find that ONE place we say, "Yes, I will travel this long to come back for a meal". So far we've only found one place that will forever be the greatest and some that we will definitely return to and some we would go to if we were in the area. Cosmos is one that we would return to if we were in the area. Good food, good price, service is very slow but friendly.

So all in all a good start to our beautiful Sunday morning. So if you are out and about and want a good meal and aren't in a hurry, swing by Cosmos. And don't forget to tip your wait staff. Bon Appetit!
