Wildcat Diner

Through many of our excursions we come across different types of people. Some are super sweet and overly friendly. Some are very rude and distant. Then there is Shiley. (I hope I got her name correct) She was not only sweet but had that personality, you know the type...the one that makes you smile and HER smile was infectious. And that type of person is an asset to any establishment. When we walked into this little family diner it was warm and welcoming. Much like walking into your mom's kitchen. Everything had a place and every place had a nik nak.

On the walls were cross country uniforms, football and basketball jerseys that, I assume, were retired from the New London School Athletic department. And let's not forget the farming community with the FFA jacket. All of these were proudly displayed along side the mascot Wildcat mural at the back of the diner.

This little town is full of heart and support for their own community. You don't get that every day. So what goes better with hometown pride??? A home cooked hearty breakfast!!

On my hubby's plate we have the Works Omelet. Yes...you guessed it .... My hubby loves his

omelets. This tasty mouthwatering concoction was, not only appealing to the eye but also the pallet. Light fluffy eggs encased an array of flavors. Ham, bacon, mushrooms, onions, green peppers and topped with shredded cheese. He loved every bite!

On my plate, or rather should I say bowl, I had one of the breakfast bowls. The potatoes were chunked and seasoned perfectly. Add REAL crumbled bacon, diced ham, scrambled eggs and top with cheese and it was a treat. And yes...I did eat the entire thing.

When it comes to hometown pride and friendly faces, you can't go wrong with a little "burg" out in the middle of nowhere. So get up, get dressed and go to Wildcat diner where friendly faces and great prices are on the menu. And while you're there, listen to the locals talk about the Amish folk and their "Coon huntinest dogs" and laugh a little. And don't forget to tip your wait staff. Bon Appetit!!
