Let me ask you a question...What is the first thing that pops into your mind when I say "The 1950's?" Most people would say the music or the way people dressed. But if you ask someone in their 70's today they would, most often say the Malt shoppe's or the soda shoppe's. Within those Soda shoppe's came amazing food. Such as the burgers and fries served with a black cow (known today as Chocolate Milk) or a milk shake. These little places were all over the country ready to serve their communities. Some are still around today but not many of them are readily available within our community. So that is why we decided to visit the Tin Goose Diner in Port Clinton. This diner is attached to the Port Clinton Airport and Museum. It was built in the 1950's and the decor is still the same now as it was then.

When we walked into the diner we were greeted by a very kind smile and a friendly "Good

Morning!" from Cassie, our waitress and handed us our menus as she asked us our drink order. Giving us time to look around and admire the decor and decide on what we wanted for breakfast. Now....y'all know we love a good breakfast and we like to mix it up a bit. So this morning was a hard choice. The menu items were paired with historic moments such as The Aviator, The Flyboy and the Wing Walker...just to name a few. We had a tough time deciding what we wanted. Everything sounded amazing! However, when we did get our food it was rather disappointing. Sooooooo.....here ya go. Our experience with the food. And as we have always said....TRY it for yourselves and form your own opinion.

So the hubby stepped way outside of his norm today and got the Fighter Scramble. There were sliced potatoes on the bottom of the dish with crumbled sausage, diced ham, with sliced Ribeye steak on top with three eggs cooked to order and only one slice of toast. It looked delish!! However, as you can see the yolks of the eggs were broken. No biggie. But, the entire meal was no more than LUKEWARM. Nothing was hot except the coffee. And only 1, yes, 1 slice of toast??? Must be a shortage on bread.

I, on the other hand, ordered the Wing Walker. It is supposed to have "SHAVED" pot roast with

potatoes and eggs with toast. I added grilled onion and mushrooms to it. I also ordered my eggs over MEDIUM. As you can see they came out over easy and barley done. I even opened them up and the whites of the egg was not cooked. The potatoes were on the verge of being burned and the pot roast was chunked, not shaved. And, again, everything was barely warm. I tried to eat it but just couldn't bring myself to eat cold food that was supposed to be pippin hot.

Now, in situations like this one, we mention it to the waitress. Which we did speak with Cassie, our waitress. She in turn asked me if I wanted another meal. Well, by this time, the hubby was almost done with his meal and I wasn't about to wait for another plate while he sat and watched me. Besides, I DO NOT send any meal back to the chef. I've watched too many other people get surprises in their food if it is sent back. I am NOT implying anything here so let that be crystal clear. I am just very picky when it comes to my food and who cooks it a SECOND time. Cassie did give us a 15% discount which still left us with a bill of $27 and change. However, folks....ALL of this fell on the chef, not the waitress. She tried to make it right and she did a fantastic job waiting on us so therefore we left her a 20% tip.

We get most of our recommendations from people we know, work with or who read our blog and suggest little diners. We thank you for all of the suggestions. We love to hear from everyone. But if you do go to one of the places we have visited, please form your own opinion and let us know about your experience . You can email us at greentiger66@outlook.com and also follow us on Twitter at @AniLeigh3 And don't forget to tip your waitstaff. Bon Appetit.
