Star Diner

When you think of home cooked meals you think of your Mother in the kitchen preparing everything from scratch with a lot of love added in for flavor. The Star Diner takes you back to the days when you would get a home cooked meal served up with smile.

This little, and I do mean little, diner sits in the heart of Norwalk, Ohio on Cleveland Road right off of Route 61. It has nine tables that will seat two comfortably or four people with scant room to spare along with a counter where people can dine side by side.

From the moment you walk in you are greeted with a friendly face and a welcoming atmosphere. Marlo is just one of the wait staff at Star Diner that will do whatever she needs to make your dining experience a great one. We were pleasantly surprised when we ordered the five egg omelet and had to split it between my husband and myself. The eggs were flavorful, light and fluffy. The hash browns were golden brown and tender and the coffee was good and hot.

The locals in this city come to the Star Diner on a regular basis. They are known as soon as they step in the door and have their coffee waiting for them as they take a seat. The decor is done in old motif with a photo of a vintage red and white Chevy Bel-air hanging on the wall and a black and white checkered boarder around the top of the diner. But make sure you carry cash because this diner doesn't accept debit cards, credit cards or checks.

The Star Diner is just one of the diners that will take you back in time and treat you like family. This little diner is near the top of our Top 10 list. Worth a second trip to explore new menu items.
