Ted & Ali's

Ted and Ali's Cafe is, by far one of the quaint, out of the way, hole in the wall diners that as ever been. Located on SR 61 in Shelby, Ohio it's easy to find.

From the outside it looks pretty small and with a simple signage out front it's not hard to miss. However, when you walk in the front door you feel as though you have stepped into your own home. The feeling of warmth and welcome takes a hold of you and sits you down for quite an experience. This week we were invited to try this little hometown cafe and we were not disappointed. When we walked in the cafe was bustling with conversation and the sound of laughter. We seated ourselves in booth in the back of the cafe. This proves to be a very good vantage point to see everything and also allows us access to the wonderful aroma from the kitchen. Before we could sit down, one of our waitresses, Nicole, rushed to meet us with a sweet smile and took our drink order. Talk about fast and friendly.

Next up was Jen who took our food order. She was pleasant but we knew they were getting busy so we ordered our omelets and off she sped to the kitchen. Within 15 minutes we had our food, piping hot and delicious!! The hubby ordered an onion, sausage cheese omelet while I ordered my favorite....Eggs benedict...in an omelet? Hech yeah! Only one word could describe our food...DELICIOUS! The eggs were fluffy and flavorful, with every bite you tasted every flavor in the omelet. Not one ingredient over powered the others.

The atmosphere was homey, the wait staff friendly, bathrooms were clean. There are several tables and booths to choose from along with a counter for elbow room and a tv to watch while enjoying your wonderful meal. The only downside to this little diner is the fact that we were never asked if we needed anything else. But, with the confidence they have in their food and as quick to serve, there really isn't a need to ask how the food is. The moment it hits the table it's, well, pretty much a done deal.

Ted & Ali's is a favorite with the local community even with Ali's passing a few years ago. We were honored to experienced great food, great service and all at a very nice price. If you haven't been to this little cafe yet, set a date. Have faith, have fun and enjoy the ride to this little out of the way diner. You won't be disappointed. Bon Appetit'
