Lulu's Diner

When you think of Sunday mornings with the sun shining bright in the sky you think of a home cooked breakfast. Well Lulu's Diner is just the place to squelch that craving. This little diner is located on East College Ave in Bluffton, Ohio with two other locations in Lima, Ohio. When you enter the diner, the atmosphere is warm and friendly with various seating arrangements for your dining pleasure. The wait staff mingle among the tables making sure you have hot coffee and are enjoying your meal.

My husband ordered the Breakfast bowl while I ordered the Corned Beef Hash.

I was having a difficult time deciding between the Hash or the Eggs Benedict so our waitress, Brandy, suggested a side of hollandaise sauce for my egg. It did not disappoint. This sauce was the best I have tasted. While both meals were good, the food was luke warm which was a disappointment for me. Needless to say, the food was still very good. It just needed to be served a little sooner. The corned beef hash was superb. Cooked just like it should be, crunchy on the outside with the potatoes nice and soft. The breakfast bowl was filled with sausage gravy, eggs, onion and cheese. The hubby said it was good but it was more like soup. Maybe because he didn't get the home fries. ;-) I on the other hand, quite enjoyed the sausage gravy on my potatoes. On a different note, the jams that accompanied our breakfast were outstanding. Home made blackberry and home made strawberry jam, respectfully, was just the right compliment to the thick sliced whole wheat toast.

Was it worth the hour travel time? Yes. Will we return? Absolutely!! We have to try the omelets next. Folks, if you are looking for a diner that treats you like family, this little diner will welcome you into their midst with good food, friendly smiles and a recommendation or two. Bon Appetit!
