DK Diner

Well, folks, we have traveled to many different places for breakfast, lunch and dinner and never have we ever come across anything like DK Diner. This little diner sits on 1715 W 3rd Ave in the very heart of Columbus. Now when I say the HEART I mean the actually heart of the people that live close to it. DK Diner is situated just outside of the busy downtown streets but packs a punch when it comes to great food. Let me elaborate on this just a little.

When you drive up to this diner you almost miss it because it actually is in a residential area. For the locals, this is convenience. And you can sure tell they love their diner. Once inside grab a mug and pour yourself some coffee and have a seat at any table, booth or stool and someone will be with you shortly. This is a semi-serve yourself, laid back, fastest breakfast this side of the Mississippi you'll ever want to try. The coffee is hot and the donuts, well, they speak for themselves.

The guys behind the counter, yeah, the Culinary Experts, are simply amazing when it comes to coming up with great ideas for a simple breakfast. When I say amazing I mean AMAZINGLY WONDERFUL!!!

My husband ordered the DK All The Way. This creation has a biscuit that covers the plate with Canadian bacon on top of that then two eggs over easy on top of the bacon then home fries on the side and smothered in a rich flavorful sausage gravy that rivals grandmothers.

I, on the other hand, love corned beef hash so naturally I ordered the Mess. This was the best hash

I have every tasted. Sauteed onion and green peppers mixed in with two over easy eggs was shear happiness to my stomach. Everything was served hot and fresh off the grill in a matter of minutes.

The atmosphere was very relaxed and everyone was extremely busy within a 30 minutes time. The outside of the diner has seating and at this time of year it is sheltered from the elements so patrons can sit outside and still enjoy the great taste of DK Diner.

The local neighbors come here on a weekly basis, like this police officer, to get their dose of DK's famous coffee. While there don't forget to take home some of their homemade donuts. They are packed full of flavor and ingredients you won't find in any store.

If you want an authentic home cooked meal made to perfection with love and care and full of flavor, you won't be disappointed with DK Diner. Make sure you tip the wait staff as well. They are trying to make your dinning experience a great one as well. Shake the police officers hand and tip the waitress. They all appreciate it.

Bon Appetit' friends.
