Bucyrus Diner
My husband and I travel all over Ohio, no matter if we go five minutes or five hours, for breakfast, we always find the most unique out of the way, hole in the wall places that have THE best breakfasts.
If you are following this blog, please feel free to email us or leave us a comment. We would love to hear from you, the public and the owners, operators and staff. Because without you all we wouldn't be able to tell the world about your establishments.
This week we decided to go to Bucyrus and feast on the breakfast that has everyone raving! I made mention about the fact that we were going to Bucyrus for breakfast to someone and they were overjoyed to hear this. Apparently The Bucyrus Diner is famous for their friendliness and outgoing personalities. So we had to test the waters for ourselves. Here is what we came up with.
From the moment we walked into the diner we were very pleased with the atmosphere. There
were two men sitting at the old wooden bar that stretched the length of the dining area. It was very quiet and immaculately clean. I mean super clean. The clean only a mother could appreciate. I mean....come on....look at those floors!!!
There is plenty of seating for everyone from two people to a large family group. The bar has many seats, and they were taken this morning, to help with the overflow or just to have an old friend sit beside you while you both enjoy a home cooked breakfast!
Now, we can't forget the most important part of this experience. The waitress and the people behind the scenes in the kitchen. When we walked in the door we found a nice high top table just inside. We took a seat and within seconds, Kelsie, our waitress, brought us menus and flatware with a bright smile and a great personality to match. She was on the ball. It was almost as if she had a sixth sense on if you needed more coffee or a question to answer. She is in our top 5 of favorite waitresses! The kitchen staff is by far the quietest and most efficient we have seen. When an order is ready they don't call out to the waitress, they flip on a light above the kitchen door and this alerts the waitstaff that an order is ready. What efficiency!
Now on to what you all want to know.....how's the food?? Well let me tell you ............
First up we have the All Meat omelet. My hubby can never resist an omelet. This big boy has sausage, bacon, ham stuffed, and I mean stuffed, in and egg shell burrito topped with melty cheese and served with perfectly browned home fries and toast. And of course, he had to have sausage gravy to make this even better.
The hubby was a little hard pressed to finish this bad boy but he did it. I have never seen him this amazed about an omelet. He said it was the perfect size for the amount of meat that was in it. He went home with a full belly.
For me I went way outside my norm and had the Grilled Cheese Breakfast Sandwich. This tasty treat was perfect in every way! Two thick slices of texas toast grilled to perfection, melted cheese and a fried egg inside! Delish! However, you see that side of meat? Yeah....that's a bratwurst patty. I cut that puppy up and put it on the inside of my sandwich! Even better!!!! With every bite I was delighted on the texture and flavor it had. Tip of the hat to whoever thought of this sandwich! Genius!
To end this weeks blog, I would have to recommend everyone stop at The Bucyrus Diner. It's located at 214 N. Sandusky Ave in Bucyrus, Ohio. It's quiet enough to read the Sunday paper or sit and have a great conversation with your neighbor. And remember to tip your waitstaff and be kind to them. They are the ones that handle your food before you eat it. Bon Appetit!
