South Side Family Restaurant

My mother has always been the voice of reason in my life. I can hear her say her little quips in my head...See a penny pick it up. All day long you'll have good luck...drop a knife on the floor and in the direction the tip of the blade is pointing, you will get company. These are tried and true ways of luck and meeting new people apparently. However, the one that has stuck in my mind was, Never judge a book by its cover. What does that really mean? It means that if you see something or someone do not judge by its appearance. Take a look inside and see what you get.

Well this is what we got...The South Side Family Restaurant sits on the south side of Findlay, OH on Main Street just before you drive over OH 15. This little restaurant seats many customers from two to twelve comfortably. It has a patio also for your dining pleasure in the more tolerable months of the year. When we opened the door to the inside we noticed that we were the youngest of the crowd, as most of the diners were senior citizen aged. This made for a very favorable QUIET breakfast. The hushed chatter, the clinking of coffee cups a chuckle or two from a group of 5 sitting next to the window. I digress......On to the food....

What this little diner lacks in personality sure makes up for it with their food, prices and atmosphere. Let me explain...the waitress was super sweet and was a little busy. But when we gave our drink order...two drinks, she couldn't remember one of them. Not sure what was going on but she was fast friendly and didn't miss a beat after that. So my hubby got the Grandma's mess. This beast has scrambled eggs, hash browns, green peppers, onions, ham, cheese and sausage gravy on top! Everything mixed together and it was a fantastic feast! The gravy was superb! Just like grandma used to make!

With me, I really like trying new things but have to watch what I eat to make sure I am staying within my perimeters of my diet. However, sometimes I throw caution to wind and wing it!

Today was no different. I requested a Corn beef hash omelet. Light fluffy eggs with perfectly cooked and seasoned corn beef hash! MMMMMMMMM!!! You can't forget the melty cheese on top either. Talk about a great breakfast!!

When the hubby suggested we dine here today I was super excited. We read the reviews and are always wanting to see what other people say about their experience. If you want an excellent breakfast with great prices this is the place for you. The food is fantastic and the price of coffee $.99 will take you back to 1992. Bon Appetit!
