The Nutcracker Restaurant

Spring rain. The sun coming up over the hills of Delaware Ohio on our way to Pataskala for breakfast. The trees are showing color the farther south we drive. And the animals, well they too were out on this rainy spring morning. We pulled into the parking lot at the Nutcracker Restaurant and the aroma of fried bacon filled our senses. The hostess sat us in a booth with a placard of a 57 Chevy on the wall above our table. The decor was a 50's style with that era of nick nak's donning the walls. There was a replica

of a gas pump next to the counter that serves as the holding station for the menus. Around the corner was an old jukebox as well. Much like what you'd see on the sitcom of "Happy Days". As we looked over the sparse menu the hushed voices of the

local folk filled the air. Deciding on what we would like we were greeted by Chad, our waiter. A very sweet and personable young man and very knowledgeable about what he serves his customers. He took our order and disappeared into the back to present it to the cook, only moments later to return with what we had ordered. So, with that being said, here was our food choices.

With only a limited menu and only one omelette choice on the menu, the hubby decided to order

the Skillet Breakfast. Now...this comes with potatoes and, well, y'all know the hubby doesn't like chunks of potatoes so he eliminated them. What he got was not conducive to the picture shown. The Breakfast Skillet is two biscuits smothered in sausage gravy, two scrambled eggs with crumbled sausage and toast. It's was ok but the portions we're not conducive to the prices.

I ordered the Corned Beef Hash Scramble. I'm only going to say one word.... DISAPPOINTED! Where is the corned beef hash? All I got was scrambled eggs and hash browns. Maybe a few bits of hash were in there...I tasted it but didn't see it.

Now folks...I know y'all follow us and are excited to see our next post. As I have said from the very beginning...go, eat and experience it for yourselves. This place is somewhere we probably won't return to not just because the fact that it wasn't "blow your mind" fantastic but for the fact that it was just...OK. Nothing special other than the decor and the fantastic wait staff. But this is what we do. We go, we eat and we tell you about everything for you to make an educated opinion on your own experience.

So...go...eat and experience it for yourselves. Let us know what you think. Don't forget to follow us on Twitter @AniLeigh3 Bon appetit!!
